Priorities for Tarrant County

Leadership Focused on Accountability, Safety, and Responsible Growth
County government works best when leadership sets clear expectations, listens to the public, and follows through. These are the priorities that will guide my decisions as County Judge.
RESPONSIBLE TAXPAYER STEWARDSHIP
Tarrant County residents deserve a county government that respects the people who fund it. I believe every tax dollar should be spent carefully, transparently, and with measurable results. Fiscal responsibility is not optional—it is a core duty of county leadership.
This includes:
-
Reducing unnecessary spending and eliminating waste
-
Evaluating unused or underutilized county properties
-
Prioritizing frontline county employees over political pay raises
PUBLIC SAFETY AND JAIL OVERSIGHT
Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of county government. A safe, well-managed jail protects staff, inmates, and taxpayers while reducing long-term costs and legal risk.
This includes:
-
Strengthening policies, training, and operational oversight
-
Improving accountability and professional standards
-
Addressing root causes that lead to costly lawsuits
TRANSPARENT, ACCESSIBLE COUNTY GOVERNMENT
Trust in government begins with openness. County residents should be able to see how decisions are made, access public meetings, and obtain records without unnecessary barriers.
This includes:
-
Restoring regular and accessible Commissioners Court meetings
-
Preserving meaningful in-person public comment
-
Ensuring public records requests are handled lawfully and transparently
SMART GROWTH AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Tarrant County’s growth must be managed responsibly, with respect for existing communities and long-term sustainability. Development should strengthen neighborhoods, support businesses, and avoid unnecessary regulation.
This includes:
-
Preserving established residential communities
-
Supporting infrastructure improvements that serve long-term needs
-
Encouraging business development within the rule of law
EFFICIENT, ACCOUNTABLE COUNTY OPERATIONS
County government should be efficient, focused, and locally accountable. Leadership must regularly evaluate operations to ensure systems serve residents—not bureaucracy.
This includes:
-
Reviewing outsourcing decisions to improve efficiency and oversight
-
Evaluating boards and commissions for transparency and performance
-
Ensuring county operations follow best practices and common sense
Leadership You Can Hold Accountable
As County Judge, I will lead with integrity, listen to the public, and make decisions based on facts, fiscal responsibility, and long-term impact. These priorities are not slogans—they are commitments to responsible leadership and accountable government.
